PEORIA, Ill. -- A Peoria native, gone big-time, stopped by our studio to talk about her upcoming hometown performance.

Singer, Liv Warfield is back in her stomping grounds preparing for a live show this weekend.

Warfield is a graduate of Peoria Notre Dame High School, and attended Bradley University before moving to Portland, Oregon.

For the last five years she sang back up for Prince all over the world.

Now Warfield has her own album out entitled, The Unexpected.

She will take center stage Friday in Peoria.

"They don't know that I have been singing. You have to understand that this is something I've been hiding from my family for a long time. It is exciting in so many ways. I do this music for the people. I love being on stage live."

The performance is at the Limelight Eventplex in Peoria.

Doors open at 6 p.m.
