Businesses across central Illinois are helping us to 'Fill the Crib' this month. This is child abuse awareness month and we are helping to stock the shelves of Crittenton Centers Crisis Nursery.

Great Clips is offering five dollars off any haircut for those who bring a donation to put in the salon's 'Fill the Crib' barrel.

Owner Dave Hands says customers have been more than willing to help children at the Crisis Nursery.

"If we could snap our fingers and be in a room before something bad happens to a child. But we can't. And the Crittenton Centers provides a safe place for children. And we are lucky to have that here in Peoria," says Hands.

Great Clips will continue their discount offer at all central Illinois locations through the end of April.
