BLOOMINGTON, Ill. – A Chenoa man has died from injuries he suffered in a crash on Friday.

David J. Sauter, 48, was pronounced dead at 5 p.m. Monday at OSF St. Joseph Medical Center in Bloomington.

Sauter was the driver of a pickup truck that collided head-on with another vehicle just before 3 p.m. Friday on Route 24 in Chenoa.

He was not wearing a seat belt and was partially ejected from the truck. He was admitted to OSF on Friday and remained there until his death on Monday.

Autopsy results show Sauter died of multiple blunt force injuries of the chest and abdomen due to the crash.

The McLean County Coroner said weather may have played a role in the crash as there was light snow falling in the area at the time of the crash.
