CENTRAL ILLINOIS -- Even though the price of gas nationally has remained unchanged, gas prices here in Peoria have jumped more than 23 cents in the past week.

According to GasBuddy.com the average price of gallon of regular in Peoria is $4.15. Some stations are as high as $4.25.

An Exxon Mobil Refinery in Joliet may be contributing to the higher gas prices.

The refinery has been offline for several weeks causing gas prices throughout the Midwest to rise.

Analyst predict prices will stabilize as the refineries come back online.
