PEORIA, Ill. -- We're just a little over a month away from the next primary election, and this year there may be a few more voters.

Last year, the state legislature passed a bill that allows 17-year-old's to vote in primary elections, if they turn 18 before the general election in November.

To help get those new voters registered, the League of Women Voters have been visiting District 150 high schools all this week.

"I think its especially important for us, if we want our needs to be represented to vote," said Stephan Fortuna, Richwoods High School Senior.

Eligible teens can also register at an election bureau or DMV.
