BLOOMINGTON, Ill. -- The driver of a semi tractor-trailer that struck and killed a Bloomington firefighter has been indicted on charges of Reckless Homicide.

The driver, Mansur Shakirov of Spokane, Washington, crashed into Hudson Fire Department vehicles on Interstate 39 on March 6 killing firefighter Chris Brown. Five others were injured. Brown, 39, left behind a wife and two sons.

Shakirov was originally charged with driving too fast for conditions and violating Scott's Law. Those charges were dropped last month.

Reckless Homicide is a Class 2 Felony punishable by 3 to 14 years in prison.

A warrant has been issued for Shakirov in the amount of $250,000.
