The ELITE 'Pulses of Hope' Drum Line has been invited to attend the International City Festival in Peoria's sister city of Friedrichshafen, Germany.

The troupe needs at least $20,000 to make the trip this summer.

That's why they're drumming for donations, but the drum line means more to these teenagers than just performing.

"It's giving me the chance to go over to Germany and extend my education," said Chase Krones, 18, "so all the things that people see in a textbook, we can see and witness in real life, and I can bring that back here and help kids in the classroom to witness it also.

"I just love everybody on the drum line," said Dan Watson, 15. "I just met two of them like a month ago, and right now, they're like family to me, from my heart (sighs)."

The festival is a week-long event, starting June 21st. So far, they've raised about $4,000.
