PEORIA, Ill. -- An overnight house fire is being investigated by arson officials.

No one was injured in the early morning fire in Peoria.

The fire broke out around 4 a.m. Friday at 1707 N. Peoria Ave.

A couple inside the home woke up and smelled smoke before calling 911.

"When the guys got here, they were able to walk up. The visibility was clear all the way to the second floor, that's when they had the heavy smoke and they went through the door and saw the heavy fire," said Peoria Fire Department Battalion Chief Ron Jones.

The cause of the fire is unknown, but as we said, it is being reviewed by Peoria fire arson investigators.

Dame is estimated at 30-thousand dollars.
