PEORIA Ill -- Saturday afternoon, The Peoria Association of Pastors held an anti-violence community rally in front of Glen Oak Grade School.

It is held in conjunction with fathers day to stress the importance of fathers communicating with their children about gangs, drugs, and violence.

Area fathers had a chance to speak to the community's youth about issues concerning them.

"We're asking parents to tell their young people to not hang with the wrong ones, the ones who are creating and doing the wrong thing in the community," said Executive Director of the Peoria Association of Pastors Pastors, Harvey Burnett. "They're presenting the wrong message. Dissociate yourself with them, no matter how unpopular it may be. Fight for your own life."
