EUREKA, Ill. -- Some Eureka college students asked the community to help preserve the environment.

The Student Alliance for a Greener Environment (SAGE) held their 2nd annual Save Our Awesome Planet Festival, also known as, the SOAP festival on Sunday.

The festival's main goal was to show people throughout Central Illinois just what the community has to offer, like hand-crafted products, organic produce and local artists and musicians.

"It brings to light the values of a small community and that we do want to support each other with our own talents," said Amanda Christenson, President of SAGE.

"People need to know what's important to the environment and we gotta take care of God's green earth," said Dan Yoder, Eureka Resident.

All of the vendors, musicians, and educators at the festival were all within a 100 mile radius of Eureka.
