FDA approves at-home heroin reversal shot

The FDA has approved the first at-home heroin reversal shot for family members and caregivers to use if a loved one is suffering an overdose.

The hand-held auto-injector device is small enough to fit in your pocket. It contains the heroin reversal drug Naloxone.

Until now, Naloxone has only been administered by trained medical professionals.

Drug overdose deaths, which are mostly caused by drugs like heroin, are the leading cause of injury death in the U.S.
