PEORIA -- A group in North Peoria were searching for peace and tranquility.

The Sahaja meditation group visited the Peoria Library North branch Wednesday night.

The Toronto-based meditation group has been traveling the country this summer sharing their meditation techniques.

Sahaja meditation focuses on awaking untapped energy trapped in the base of the spine.

Musician Glenn Pattison said meditation is way to reduce stress in today's busy world.

"There's a lot of people who have a lot of stress these days, " said Pattison. "Everybody's getting bombarded with advertising and everything that's going on all around the world. It's a great way to deal with stress."

If your interested in trying out Sahaja meditation for yourself, the Peoria North Branch Library is offering classes every Saturday at 10:15 AM.
