LILLY, Ill. -- A historic home tied to the days of Abraham Lincoln has gone up in flames.

This is what is left of the Lilly Inn that has stood in Lilly, Illinois since the 1830's.

Historians say the home was used as an overnight stop for lawyers who traveled across Illinois to serve their clients, including Abraham Lincoln.

Firefighters arrived on scene Saturday night to find the inn, now a home, engulfed in flames.

The buildings had survived two previous fires but this time it is believed to be a total loss.
