EAST PEORIA, Ill. – Thursday night marked the beginning of the NFL season. Some football fanatics in central Illinois kicked off the first game at Buffalo Wild Wings.

The football fans warming the bench, weren't just cheering on their favorite team, but also celebrating the first game of the season.

Some of these football lovers had a special way of thinking about the pigskin.

"We all come out here and you hear so much about the NFL. I'm a huge sports fan. This is like one of my holidays. It's better than, well it's not as good as Christmas, but it's pretty close," said Ben O'Brien, Peoria Resident.

The next round of football games will be on Sunday at noon.
