PEORIA, Ill. -- Climbing to the top of the hill at Bradley Park is something Peoria Resident Derrick Perrine has done for the last 10 years.
Thanks to Friday night's snow, this year wasn't any different.
"I didn't think we would get this much, but I woke up this morning and looked outside," said Perrine. "I was like, oh it is time to go sledding."
Perrine and his nephew and niece were just a few of the dozens of sledders enjoying the first major snowfall of the season Saturday morning.
For some, the snow served as a packing tool to build with.
And for many of those builders, the front yard was all they needed to build their own "Frosty", or at least try.
"We are attempting to make a ball and roll it, but it doesn't really seem to be working that great," said East Peoria resident, Shannon Russell. "We might need to Google it or something."
