Gas prices rise by more than 10 cents in Peoria area

PEORIA, Ill. -- Average retail gasoline prices in Peoria have risen 10.4 cents per gallon in the past week, averaging $3.59 per gallon Sunday, according to GasBuddy.com.

This compares with the national average that has fallen 1.6 cents per gallon in the last week to $3.50 per gallon.

Including the change in gas prices in Peoria during the past week, prices Sunday were 24.9 cents per gallon lower than the same day one year ago and are 16.8 cents per gallon lower than a month ago.

The national average has decreased 14.5 cents per gallon during the last month and stands 34.7 cents per gallon lower than this day one year ago.
