WASHINGTON, Ill. -- Washington city officials say the demolition of the Georgetown Common Apartments will start tomorrow morning. The apartment complex was one of the hardest hit after the November 17th tornado.

More than a hundred residents waited days--trying to salvage what was left of their belongings. The complex has remained virtually untouched since the storm.

"Iron Hustler Excavating from Peoria has told us that they will start on Monday, and I think they are going to start at the front of the property. So, we're hearing it is going to be the 19th," said Mayor Gary Manier. "It's pretty emotional. For the people who are still in the area that once lived there, and I really feel for that."

City administrators say the demolition is expected to be completed within two months.
