NORMAL, Ill. – Caterpillar Fuel Systems and Heartland Community College raised over $40,000 for scholarships at the eighth annual Scoring FORE Scholarships golf tournament in Pontiac.

The tournament has risen over $250,000 for Heartland Community College students living in Livingston County since beginning in 2006.

This year, Caterpillar was able to provide six full-ride scholarships, an increase from last year’s five.

“The support for our Scoring FORE Scholarships golf outing this year set a new record in contributions toward scholarships for deserving students to be able to attend Heartland Community College,” said Susan Toher, Operations Manager for Caterpillar Fuel Systems.

The program has provided 65 scholarships to 25 students so far.

"Caterpillar and their partners continue to show their amazing generosity to local students,” said Chris Downing, Executive Director at HCC. “The scholarships they create and the lives that they are changing are a testament to their commitment to this community."
