PEORIA, Ill. -- Governor Pat Quinn also showed his support at the Illinois State Dental Society Foundation Mission of Mercy free dental clinic by signing two bills aimed to increase access to health care services.

Governor Quinn signed legislation to help provide free medical services to those in need. Under the bill, the state can issue volunteer licenses to healthcare professionals that meet the licensure requirements. The law also waives the licensure feeds for the first 500 volunteer licenses.

"Those who are retired, who have given up their license can still come back and help serve the public in a volunteer capacity," said Quinn.

Quinn also signed legislation to allow dental offices to provide flu shots. Both laws are effective immediately.
