RICHARDSON, Texas -- A groundbreaking ceremony was held Thursday at a 186 acre plot of land that will contain three towers leased by State Farm.

State Farm plans to use the towers to provide claims, service and sales support to State Farm customers.

The site will be staffed by a combination of new hires and existing employees.

State Farm says they will have capacity for up to 8,000 employees throughout the greater-Dallas area one the project is completed.

State Farm says they will move into the first building in 2015.

"The creation of a larger multi-functional facility in Richardson is one of many changes we’re making to better meet the ever expanding needs of our customers,” said Mary Crego, senior vice president, State Farm.
