CENTRAL ILLINOIS -- This winter has IDOT crews using more salt and pre-treatment materials than in years past.
For the current snowfall, IDOT has 22 plow trucks out in Peoria County, 20 in Tazewell and six in Woodford County.
Officials said despite state cuts elsewhere, they continue to operate as normal to keep Illinois' roads safe and passable.
"Operations definitely has the funds to handle whatever winter weather comes our way. We are no where near the end of our budget," said Jennifer Rudzinski, Operations Engineer for IDOT.
