ILLINOIS-- The land of Lincoln is receiving high marks when it comes to government spending transparency.

According to the Illinois Public Interest Research Group, the state has earned an A- for providing citizens with easy access to information on how public funds are spent.

The grade is up from a B-, due to improvements to existing websites like the Illinois Transparency and Accountability Portal.
