EAST PEORIA, Ill. -- International students shared a variety of cultures Saturday afternoon.

It was part of Illinois Central College's 10th Annual International Fair.

The event included a fashion show of traditional costumes from students' home countries.

Guests also had a chance to celebrate the variety of cultures through music, dancing, food samples, and cultural booths.

"A student that may never leave Illinois may get to be a good friend of somebody from Turkey or somebody from Japan or China," said ICC Director of International Education, Barbara Burton. "It is a great way for them to learn some things about the big world out there. They can get to know somebody from another country."

The fair was open to the public with a suggested $2 donation.

Organizers hope to raise $1,000 which will go towards an international student scholarship fund.
