PEORIA, Ill -- A Peoria Circuit Court jury has found 30-year old Julius Mudd "not guilty" of attempted murder charges in connection to a year-old shooting.
Mudd admitted shooting Marcus Hayward of Peoria on Near Year's Eve of 2011, but said he was acting in self-defense.
The jury did convict Mudd of unlawful use of a weapon by a felon.
Ironically, Mudd had been aquitted of those same charges in 2011, just weeks before the Hayward shooting.
Mudd's felony record includes a 2005 conviction on drug charges. He's to be sentenced February 8th.
