PEORIA, Ill. -- Illinois State Police are investigating a crash that has sent one person to the hospital with life threatening injuries.

Authorities say the crash happened just after 10 Saturday morning on Interstate 74, near mile marker 77.

The driver, 42 year-old Corey Schalber from Bartonville, was traveling eastbound when he lost control of a truck that was pulling a boat trailer.

The vehicle rolled on it's top and Schalber was ejected.  He was life-flighted to OSF Saint Francis Medical Center.  Schalber is currently in serious condition.

Police have charged Schalber with failure to wear a seatbelt, failure to reduce speed, driving under the influence of drugs and possession of less than 2.5 grams of cannabis.

State Police continue to investigate.
