MIAMI, Fla -- The head of Miami's crime stoppers program will not be going to jail.
Richard Masten staged a rather unusual protest --in court--this week.
Rather than hand over a tip to a cocaine arrest --Richard Masten instead ate the piece of paper containing the tip while sitting in court.
The judge had told him to hand over the paper...and Masten said it was the only way to protect the anonymous tipster.
Judge Victoria Brehhan declared Masten is in contempt of court but has now ordered him to write a report on the laws concerning anonymous tips....
