SPRINGFIELD, Ill. -- A list of Illinois' Ten Most Endangered Historic Places was announced Tuesday at a press conference in Springfield.
The list, created by Landmarks Illinois, calls attention to historic resources in need of rehabilitation and responsible stewardship.
Peoria's Madison Theater made 2013's list. Landmarks Illinois says that the newly-appointed Downtown Advisory Commission and the City can work to identify a new use for the building.
Landmarks Illinois says that since the 1995 creation of the Ten Most Endangered list, more than a third of the properties have been saved and less than a quarter have been demolished.
