LACON, Ill. -- Governor Pat Quinn announced Thursday a $1,055,215 investment for runway extension work at Marshall County Airport in Lacon.
“Investments in airports like this one in Lacon make them more efficient and safer while creating construction jobs,” Governor Quinn said. “This Illinois Jobs Now! project will continue to ensure that Illinois has a strong, 21st century infrastructure.”
The work will involve an 800 foot runway extension to accommodate larger aircraft. The Illinois Department of Transportation, Division of Aeronautics will manage the project. The total project cost is $1.4 million.
