A 23 year old McLean County man is now charged with six counts of murder in the death of a three year old girl.

David Gharrett was officially charged Wednesday morning with the death of Destiny Cox, the daughter of Gharrett's girlfriend.

The child died last Friday at the Children's Hospital of Illinois at OSF St. Francis Medical Center.

In court today, Assistant State's Attorney Jane Foster said Gharrett admitted to throwing the child in a bathtub after she vomited.

Peoria County Coroner Johnna Ingersoll said the child died as a result of blunt force truama.

Bond for Gharrett has been set at two million dollars.
