BARRINGTON, Ill -- Several middle-school students at a Barrington, Illinois school could face criminal charges after they were found texting racy photos on their cell phones.

The five students involved in the sexting are all 13 and 14 year old eighth graders.

The Students used Snapchat and the Kik messenger app to share the photos.

School officials want parents to talk to their children.

"Rules around the phone and then conversations about relationships and conversations about consequences," said Dr. Sarah Katula, with the Good Samaritan Hospital.

Barrington Police said all of the individuals involved are minors. It's unknown whether or not the investigation will result in criminal charges.
