MCLEAN COUNTY, Ill. -- A Normal man, reported missing two weeks ago, was found dead Sunday evening in Evergreen Lake.
The McLean County coroner confirms Sebert Jay Crose, 35, of Normal, died from drowning.
Crose was last seen in Bloomington on April 15. Autopsy results indicate that he may have been in the water since then.
The autopsy showed no signs of traumatic injury, specifically no sharp or blunt force or gunshot injuries.
Crose's body was discovered Sunday night after authorities received a call from a fisherman who said he thought he had "hooked a body on his line" off the West boat launch at Comlara Park in Hudson.
When authorities arrived, they found an unresponsive person on the end of the fisherman’s line approximately 30 feet into the water. The body was identified as Crose.
Authorities are still working to locate Crose's vehicle. Forensic toxicology tests have been ordered.
