NORMAL, Ill -- The man arrested in connection to the death of a 3-year-old McLean County boy was charged with murder late Thursday afternoon.
McLean County State's Attorney Jason Chambers says Nicholas Compton is charged with three counts of first degree murder and one count of aggravated domestic battery.
Compton, a 23-year-old from Colfax, is the boyfriend of the boy's mother.

The McLean County Coroner says 3-year-old Robbie Cramer died Tuesday morning.
Neighbors off camera tell us the boy was living with his mom and Compton at a home in the 200 block of Cambridge Drive in Normal. They did not know how the couple knew the homeowners or if they were related. Neighbors also said police had been to the home on occasion before.
An autopsy shows Robbie had multiple blunt force injuries caused by another person, although the official cause of his death has yet to be determined.
A funeral for Cramer is scheduled for Friday.
Police and the State's Attorney's office are expected to release more details about the case Friday.
Compton's bond is set at $1 million.
