CENTRAL ILLINOIS -- Strong winds, heavy downpours, and a lightning-charged atmosphere moved through the area Thursday morning, bringing with it damage and power outages.

According to Ameren Illinois' website, some residents in Peoria, East Peoria, Mapleton, Lacon, and Henry are without power.  Approximately 4,400 outages were reported at 10 a.m. Thursday morning.

Other area residents have reported fires caused by lightning strikes, stoplights not working properly in certain intersections, and downed trees and power lines.

If you have a photo of damage or the storm, we'd love to see them! Send them to news25@week.com or post them to our Facebook Page.
