New eatery coming to downtown East Peoria

EAST PEORIA, Ill. – A new eatery is coming to East Peoria’s Levee District.

Cullinan Properties announced Tuesday that Jersey Mike’s Subs is set to open this summer in the new downtown.

The restaurant, which boasts freshly sliced and grilled East Coast-style subs, will occupy the space adjacent to Tequila’s Mexican Bar & Grill.

Jersey Mike’s started at the Jersey Shore in 1956 and continued to grow in 2012 with 92 new restaurants opening across the country.

The East Peoria location will be the third to open in Central Illinois, joining locations in Springfield and Champaign.

In addition o the new eatery, Family Dental Care of East Peoria, a new full-service, state-of-the-art family dental practice, is set to open in the Levee District on July 31. It is located across from Costco and adjacent to Target.

Tequila’s Mexican Bar & Grill and GNC are open for business and grand opening plans are underway for Ross Dress for Less, Potbelly Sandwich Shop and Red Robin but no official opening dates have been released.
