WASHINGTON, Ill. -- A public ribbon-cutting was held in Washington Friday morning for a new family health clinic.

UnityPoint Clinic Family Medicine is a 13,000 square foot facility located at 1201 North Cummins Lane.

It features x-ray and laboratory services, as well as physical therapy and sports medicine.

The president of UnityPoint says the idea is to offer patients as much primary care as possible under one roof.

"Within our system we're able to deliver all the care that a patient needs," said Dr. Gary Knepp. "From a patient perspective, patients like to get as much of the services as they can at one location. That was part of our motive here to bring as many services under one roof as we could."

The new clinic is affiliated with UnityPoint Health-Methodist and has been open since January.
