PEORIA, Ill. -- The city of Peoria is dealing with another water main break.

It happened Tuesday night in the 2300 block of NE Adams Street.

Illinois American Water says part of the 30 inch transmission main affected Monday, broke further down the line, but was quickly isolated.

Approximately 30 people were affected. Crews notified them overnight.

"We are looking at customers along Adams and Alexander that are affected," said Illinois American Water Spokesman Karen Cotton. "They are going to work through the night to make sure they can work to get this repaired."

Affected residents should follow the same precautions they used earlier this week and drivers should avoid the area.

Southbound IL 29 is restricted to one lane at Adams and Alexander.

A detour is being set up for westbound I-74 traffic looking to go northbound on IL 29 in Peoria. Those drivers will take I-74 to Spalding Avenue, to Knoxville Avenue, to US 150 (War Memorial Drive) as northbound IL 29 is currently closed to all traffic at the site of the water main break.
