The number of Americans applying for unemployment benefits has increased.
The labor department says the number of people filing claims for aid last week jumped by more than 16,000, bringing the seasonally adjusted total to 360,000.
The spike in applications could possibly be attributed to some automakers briefly closing their factories to retool for new models and many schools close during this time of year.
However, experts stress the overall trend has been favorable, as unemployment claims have steadily declined in the past year.
The unemployment rate was 7.6 percent in June, down from 8.2 percent a year ago.
