PEORIA, Ill. -- OSF Saint Francis Medical Center has officially responded to an anti-competitive lawsuit filed by Methodist earlier this week.

In a statement, Jim Farrell, Senior VP Marketing and Communications of OSF Healthcare System said that the health care system has fully complied with all anti-trust laws and regulations.

The statement goes on to say: "Having reviewed the lawsuit filed by Methodist Health Services Corporation against OSF Saint Francis Medical Center, we find it to be without merit. Litigation will simply consume time, energy and resources that each organization could better use to meet the health and medical care needs of tri-county residents as well as those throughout central and northern Illinois."

Besides the statement, OSF Healthcare says there would not be any further comment at this time.
