ELMWOOD, Ill. -- A theatre that has stood on Elmwood's Main Street for 100 years may not be operational for much longer.

The Palace Theatre has just more than a month to convert its theatre to digital or the owners may be forced to shut its doors.

The theatre play 35 millimeter films, but film companies are phasing those out.

The facility needs 40-thousand dollars to convert to digital.

To raise some of those funds, the owner created a Digital Movie Club.

In exchange for a donation to the theatre, you receive movie and concession vouchers.

"We're kind of backed into a corner about how to raise some funds. I was real hesitant to do it because the town came to bat for us after the tornado in 2010.So it was difficult to go back out there," said Vern Reynolds, owner of Palace Theatre.

For more information or to donate call the theatre at 309-742-8586.
