CENTRAL ILLINOIS -- We are just three weeks away the opening of the Winter Olympics in Sochi, Russia.

And to get into the spirit, we want to introduce you to some of the Illinois natives representing the U.S.A.

17-year-old Emery Lehman leaves for Russia Monday.

But today, family, friends, and classmates held an Olympic style sendoff at Oak Park and River Forest High school.

Lehman will compete in the five-thousand and ten-thousand meters speed skating events.

He had one of the fastest qualifying times in the Olympic trials.

"It was a big sigh of relief and I was just really excited... finally a dream come true and I get to take a big trip and skate for the US at the Olympic games. It doesn't get much better than this," said Olympic speed skater Emery Lehman.
