BARTONVILLE, Ill. -- Every summer, HOI 19 News goes back to the schools we gave $1,000 grants to, to see how they spent their money.
This time, we re-visit Limestone Community high school's automotive department.
Last November, we surprised Mr. Wester with a $1,000 check.
Since then, he's used the money to help transfer a bunch of donated materials.
"One of the local dealerships came out and supported us and they offered us some equipment, a 4-post alignment machine, but our hurdle was getting the funds together to move the equipment. The total value was $33,000 and without this grant, we wouldn't have been able to move the equipment here," said Mr. Wester.
Mr. Wester said this equipment is essential to giving his students hands-on experience.
Without it, he would have to teach some of these subjects out of a book.
