PEORIA, Ill. -- Norwood Primary school in Peoria is getting a state map drawn on its playground this summer.

Last October, HOI 19 News and CEFCU surprised gym teacher Holly Lhamon with a $1,000 One Class at a Time grant.

She used the money to buy a couple things, including an iPad, so her classes can participate in a pedometer-based program that tracks how many steps kids are taking.

She also bought a stencil map of the United States to put on the playground outside.

She says it can be used by all the teachers.

"You can do the guess the state and capital game with geography classes. You can also have the kids outline and check out features in different regions. And it can be used for math problems to calculate distance," said Ms. Holly Lhamon.

Ms. Lhamon says the map will be ready to go for the start of this school year.
