PEORIA Ill -- Saturday, The New Millennium Institute held a panel discussion addressing violence, drugs and domestic issues plaguing African American families.

With recent shootings in Peoria, organizers are wondering if the church has lost it's impact.

They are hoping several discussions with community leaders will find a solution.

"The panel members will take some of these questions and think about them," said New Millennium President, James Agbar Bryson. "They can start to think about how they can be more effective in their particular church and have a greater impact, not just on the church, but the community as a whole."

The group plans on continuing this conversation on November 16th with their African American Male Conference.
