Peoria Police seek suspect in homicide case

PEORIA, Ill. -- Peoria Police are asking for the public's help in locating a second suspect in connection to a fatal shooting investigation.

Police are now searching for Cartez Edell Williams, 25. He is wanted on charges of Aggravated Discharge of a Firearm.

Police believe Williams was involved in a shooting on October 11th that left 31-year-old Carnell Ashford dead and two others injured.

Ashford's body was found in an alley in the 1400 block of North East Perry Avenue in Peoria.

Police have already arrested and charged Kent Irby Junior with Ashford's death.

Irby's lawyer says there was a dispute among the men and gunshots were exchanged.

Irby's lawyer is claiming self defense.
