Peoria and Bloomington-Normal unemployment rates flat from year prior

CHICAGO -- Peoria and Bloomington-Normal both saw slight increases to their respective unemployment rates in February compared to last year.

Peoria's rate of 10.1 percent is .1 percent higher than 2013's mark and Bloomington-Normal's rate is 8 percent, up from 7.7 percent the year before.

Peoria lost approximately 3,300 jobs from the year before and Bloomington-Normal lost 1,900 .

Statewide, job growth was seen in Chicago, Champaign-Urbana and Lake-Kenosha.
