PEORIA, Ill. -- Saturday night' snowfall was enough to set a new record.
The winter of 2013-14 is officially the snowiest on record in the River City.
Accumulation of 53.4 inches has fallen down across the city this winter. That beats the previous record of 52 inches set during the winter of 2010-11.
We asked some residents how it felt to live through the snowiest winter in history.
"It's kind of cool we broke the record," said Donna Lane.
"I think it's wonderful, bring on some more," said Lou McMurray. "As long as my snow blower doesn't stop on me, I'll go with it."
"Unfortunate for anyone who has to spend any amount of time outside," said Jennifer Kennedy. "My husband and I run and running is not something you can do a whole lot of this winter outside anyway."
City plows are expected to complete residential plowing by Monday morning.
