BLOOMINGTON, Ill. – Police are investigating a credit card “skimming” incident involving an employee at the Steak n’ Shake in Normal.
On Monday, police arrested Steak n’ Shake employee Marlon M. Pettis, 19, along with Arneka N. Boddie, 36, and Bernarro Williams, 34, in connection with at least seven reports of fraudulent credit card charges.
All three Normal residents are charged with organizing a financial criminal enterprise, defrauding a financial institution and receipt of goods and services.
Between December and January, the McLean County Sheriff’s Office, Normal Police Department and Bloomington Police Department received multiple reports from residents who had their credit card information compromised.
An investigation is ongoing. Police are urging residents who used their credit/debit cards at the Steak n’ Shake, 325 S. Veteran’s Parkway in Normal, between November 15, 2013 and February 1, 2014 to keep a close watch for unauthorized charges.
