PEORIA, Ill. -- Peoria police are investigating the city's third homicide of the year.

Kelsey Coleman, 32, was pronounced dead at 1:15 a.m. at OSF Saint Francis Medical Center.

An autopsy showed he died of a gunshot wound to the back.

Police say that they responded to a residence on 1612 S. Arago at 12:29 a.m. on report of a shooting.

Authorities say that Coleman was staying at the residence. They believe that there was a home invasion and an altercation between Coleman and the suspect led to the shooting.

Peoria Police Captain Mike Scally says there are no suspects at this time.

He says the investigation of this homicide may be more challenging than the other 2 that have occurred this year.

Scally said, "The first 2 homicides of the year were domestic related which are hard for us to get in to. And we haven't really determined the cause or the motive behind this one yet other than it doesn't appear to be someone that is related to the victim which the first two were. So this is going to take a little more investigative work to determine anything."

A next door Neighbor says the police have been called to the address several times before...
