Police release the identity of the driver wanted in hit-and-run crash

PEORIA, Ill. -- Peoria Police have released the identity of the man they believe was the driver in a hit-and-run crash that sent two people to a hospital on Sunday.

Police are seeking Timothy C. Burkhardt, 25, of Peoria for felony traffic charges.

Burkhardt is 5'11" and weighs 150 pounds.

His passenger, William Levan of Peoria, was charged Monday with obstructing police.

Police believe Burkhardt was driving a Grand Prix that struck a blue automobile before crashing into a motorcycle.

The driver of the motorcycle, Theresa Reeder, and a passenger, William Hermann, are listed in fair condition at an area hospital.

Police say Burkhardt fled the scene of the crash.
