If you use propane to heat your home, you might be waiting longer than usual for your tank to be filled and it's going to cost you more.

Propane prices are up by as much as $.50 a gallon for some Midwest communities.

A spokesman for propane supplier Agland FS said the Midwest is paying a higher premium because of a shortage in Kansas.

He said we are not at the point, where people won't have enough to heat their home but deliveries are delayed.

The supplier adds that agricultural use of propane for drying crops is up this year, which also slightly affects the price.
